environment. architecture. urbanism.
Every decision about design and construction is also a decision about the larger environment, natural and constructed. It's a step toward our shared future--for the short and the long term.
I’m interested in policies and design projects that promote great cities. The elements of great cities have not changed much. The best ones are temporal and also timeless, combining constant activity and change with durable public infrastructure and architectural landmarks. Great cities are economically and socially diverse, with plenty of places to live, work and play. They have many neighborhoods that are walkable, bike-able, safe, and built around human scale. Density is blended with open space and natural elements.
